The Southeast Texas Coaches Association on Saturday named Newton Head Coach Drew Johnston Coach of the Year. However, Johnston was not the only one in the spotlight, his assistant Jason Hicks was named Assistant Coach of the Year.
The awards were presented on Saturday evening at the Annual SETCA Banquet.
Johnston is known by all as leader, who can get the job done and bring a team to victory. Last year, he led the Newton Eagles to another state trophy.
