Newton County Sheriff Colton Havard and his deputies are investigating the reported theft of what they say is a "high dollar" lawn mower.
Havard said the investigation began on Sunday afternoon when it was reported that a home had been burglarized while the owner was attending church. Deputies determined that a safe containing miscellaneous contents and a John Deere 72" zero-turn lawn mower had been stolen. The homeowner is offering a cash reward for credible information leading to the arrest of the person(s) responsible." or mower had been stolen.
Anyone seeing the mower or knowing of it's whereabouts is asked to call the Newton County Sheriff's Department.
