Newton County Sheriff Robert Burby says charges have been filed against one individual allegedly involved in the shooting at the Elam Event Center November 10, killing Jerome "J.J." Rambo, 16. On November 27, a suspect was charged with Tampering/Fabrication Phys Evid W/Intent to Impair and Deadly Conduct. According to Burby the individual who has not been identified pending formal arraignment was taken into custody in another state and is pending extradition back to Texas on outstanding warrants. Burby said, "We are still actively working this case and have identified other persons of interest and witnesses," says Sheriff Burby. "We continue to ask that anyone with information regarding the incident to contact the Newton County Sheriff's Office.
