Newton County Precinct 1 Justice of the Peace Connie Smith told KJAS News on Tuesday that she has authorized the Newton County Sheriff’s Department to seize three dogs.
The dogs had been used in illegal dog-fighting near the Call Community and was stopped in a law enforcement raid on November 22nd.
The dogs will be housed in a rescue shelter.
Nearly fifty people were arrested as a result of the raid.
