Newton County Sheriff Robert Burby says his deputies were involved in a pursuit of two people on two all-terrain vehicles at about 10:30 Tuesday morning. He said it occurred in the area of Highway 87 just south of Farm to Market Road 1416, in the Trout Creek Community. Burby said deputies were able to capture one of the ATV riders and that person was found to be in possession of drugs. Meanwhile, the other ATV rider managed to elude capture and remains at-large. The name of the person arrested has not yet been released.
