NATCHITOCHES, La. - The Natchitoches Police Department is investigating a homicide that occurred early Saturday morning on Myrtle Drive. Around 2:06 a.m., officers with the Natchitoches Police Department were dispatched to the 500 block of Myrtle Drive in reference to a gunshot victim. When officers arrived, they found Reginald Howard, 47, who was suffering from multiple gunshot wounds and began rendering first aid to the victim. The Natchitoches Parish Coroner’s Office pronounced Howard dead as a result of his injuries. Derrick Booker, 45, was placed under arrest without incident and is charged with Second Degree Murder. He was placed in the Bossier Parish Maximum Security Jail. Investigation is currently ongoing.
