A Lufkin man died and another man was transported to an out-of-town hospital for treatment after a one-vehicle crash early Sunday on FM 819, according to a report from the Texas Department of Public Safety. Bradley Napier, 42, was pronounced dead at the scene by an Angelina County justice of the peace, the report states. Another occupant of the vehicle — Winston Conway, 38, of Lufkin — was transported to St. Joseph Health Regional Hospital in Bryan, according to the report. “The preliminary crash investigation indicates that at approximately 2 a.m., a 2015 Ford pickup was traveling southeast on FM 819, near FM 2108, when the driver drove off the roadway to the left, where it struck a concrete culvert,” the report states. “The vehicle then struck a second concrete culvert before overturning. The driver and passenger were ejected during the crash.”
