Natchitoches mom arrested after child reportedly ate THC gummies

NATCHITOCHES, La. - A Natchitoches mother is under arrest after deputies say her 7-year-old child ingested THC gummies. The Natchitoches Parish deputies were notified by the Natchitoches Regional Medical Center that a child was being treated in the emergency room for possible drug overdose symptoms. The child was suffering from convulsions, seizures, lack of responsiveness, and fatigue all symptoms of a possible drug overdose. Detectives say while speaking with the mother of the child they learned that the child may have come in contact and ingested THC gummies at home. During a search of the home an deputies discovered and seized a bag containing several suspected Delta-9 High Potency THC gummies, eleven partially burned suspected marijuana cigarettes, and five suspected ecstasy pills. Chardeia T. Gibson was arrested and booked into Lasalle Corrections Center in Natchitoches. She is charged with Possession of CDS I Marijuana, Possession of CDS I Ecstasy, Cruelty to Juveniles, Illegal Possession and Use of a Controlled Dangerous Substance in the Presence of a Juvenile, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
