NATCHITOCHES, La. - First responders were on the scene of two separate brush-woods fires in Natchitoches parish according to the Sherrif's office.
The fires were located by the Longleaf Scenic Byway near Lotus campground which is just off LA highway 117 near Kisatchie.
By 6:30 p.m. the first fire had been contained, however the second fire had not.
In an update from the Sheriff's Office, by 7 p.m. Natchitoches Parish Fire Protection District 1 responded to the second fire with off-road fire response equipment.
In addition, Fire Districts 4 and 1 were supplying tankers.
There is no word on what caused the fires. This is an ongoing investigation.
