NACOGDOCHES, Texas (KTRE) - A Nacogdoches High School student has been arrested after ISD police say they noticed a loose round of ammunition in his vehicle.
Officers spotted the ammunition at about 11 a.m. Friday during a routine parking lot patrol, according to a release from the Nacogdoches ISD Police Department. The discovery prompted an investigation, and a Glock handgun with a 17-round magazine inserted was found in the glove box, police said.
Officers detained the student and also found THC and nicotine vape pens in his possession.
He was booked into the Nacogdoches County Jail on charges of possession of a firearm in a prohibited place and drug possession in a drug-free zone.
ISD police said they have forwarded the case to the district attorney’s office for prosecution.
