Mount Pleasant man fatally shot after altercation with roommate

MOUNT PLEASANT, Texas (KLTV) - A man is dead after getting into a physical altercation with his roommate, according to Mount Pleasant police. On Wednesday around 10 p.m. Mount Pleasant police responded to a call at an apartment complex in the 1700 block of Shadywood Lane. Upon arrival police discovered a shooting had just occurred and found Joshua Freeman, 41, of Longview, lying outside of an apartment door with multiple gunshot wounds. Freeman was taken to a hospital where he later died. The initial investigation showed that Freeman and another man who lived in the apartment were involved in a physical conflict at the door of the apartment when Freeman was shot. Mount Pleasant police have not identified the other man due to the ongoing investigation. Police say the man was at the scene when officers arrived and detained for questioning. Currently the Mount Pleasant police do not believe anyone else to be involved in the shooting.
