The report said that the pursuit began in Hemphill and ended in the Toledo Town Community where Bass reportedly then tried to flee from officers on foot, but she was quickly captured.
Bass has since been charged with Aggravated Flight from Officer, Aggravated Assault with Motor Vehicle upon Peace Officer, and Resisting an Officer.
This is the second arrest for Bass since her daughter was murdered. In December of 2021, just a month before the murder trial, she ran into Matthew Hoy Edgar in a Hemphill convenience store. Edgar, at the time, was free from jail after his bond was reduced by a State District Judge. Bass and Edgar became involved in a disturbance in the store, and Bass ended up being arrested on charges of Assault on Edgar, and also Criminal Mischief for allegedly damaging his vehicle as he fled from her.
Meanwhile, Matthew Hoy Edgar has been on the run since Wednesday, January 26th when he failed to show up at his murder trial. That day a jury convicted him and sentenced him to life in prison for the murder of Livye Lewis.
