More information has been learned about the murder of a Woodville man. It happened shortly after 9:00 Friday night on Holly Hill Drive near Silsbee. Hardin County deputies found 33-year-old Granville Owen Dennis, Jr. shot to death on the kitchen floor of a house and they arrested a woman, Amy Sue Hammond, 30, of Silsbee, and charged her with Murder. Her bond has been set at $750,000.00. KFDM 6 News has obtained the probable cause affidavit and it sheds more light on the incident. The affidavit filed by an investigator said "Hammond stated Dennis had become physically aggressive with her, and while he was sitting on the floor of the bedroom, she pointed a rifle/shotgun at Dennis and warned him how she did not want to have to kill him." The affidavit went on to say "Hammond and Dennis began pushing and shoving each other throughout the house. Dennis slipped and fell to the living room floor. Hammond saw a black .40 caliber pistol laying on the floor near Dennis. Dennis did not attempt to retrieve the pistol. Instead, she picked it up, pointed it at Dennis and shot one time, missing Dennis' body. Dennis took the pistol and shot it, nearly striking his own leg. Hammond reported regaining control of the pistol and pointing it in Dennis' direction while Dennis was sitting in a seated position on the kitchen floor. Hammond stated that while Dennis was seated on the floor, she shot once more." Investigators say that one shot hit him on the right side of his face and killed him.
