Missing man found dead in Palestine

PALESTINE, Texas (KLTV) - Police said a man that went missing after leaving jail was found dead in Palestine on Sunday. According to the Palestine Police Department, just after 11:00 a.m. officers responded to the wooded area off of E. Lacy Street when a body was discovered in a creek. The body was found during a search for Trenton Lee Staneart, 24, of Henderson, who was last seen on Jan. 20. Detectives were able to identify the body as Staneart. Anderson County Precinct #3 Justice of the Peace James Todd responded to the scene and ordered an autopsy. Staneart was last seen leaving the Anderson County Jail on Jan. 20, and his family notified the police that he was missing on Jan. 22. Authorities have said additional details will be released as they become available.
