A memorial service has been planned for an Orange County man who died when his pickup truck plunged into the Neches River. The tragedy occurred early Friday morning when 32-year-old Nathan Reid was driving to work. State troopers said Reid lost control of his truck on a curve near his home on 4 Oaks Ranch Road, just across the river from the far northeast corner of Beaumont. Troopers said the truck hit an embankment and then went into the river. The memorial service will be Saturday at First Baptist Church in Vidor. Reid was a U.S. Navy veteran, and he is survived by his wife and their seven children.
