Archived as originally published. Information reflects the date of this article.

Beaumont Police say a man abducted a woman, who he had formerly been in a relationship with, took her to Louisiana, and he then returned to Beaumont where he committed suicide following an hours-long standoff with officers. Police say the bizarre chain of events began at about 1:30 Wednesday morning when Lee Austin Senegal, Jr., 28, of Beaumont, stole the woman’s vehicle and drove her to Vinton, Louisiana. Police say he then returned to Beaumont with the woman and went into a house with a gun. It was the residence of another woman that he had been in a relationship with. Her children were there also. According to police, they were able to get Senegal to release everyone in the house, and he then turned the gun on himself and took his own life.
