Our news partner KFDM in Beaumont is reporting that the man who shot at officers in Nederland is in custody.
Nederland Police Chief Gary Porter confirms to KFDM/Fox 4 officers have captured the fugitive accused of firing shots at bond agents Wednesday afternoon.
Shortly after 7:00 p.m., officers brought Jason Paul Young out of an apartment at Avenue Apartments in the 2900 block of Nederland Avenue.
Officers put Young in the back of a patrol unit while they questioned him.
Chief Porter says around 1:45 p.m. bond agents attempted to arrest Young for warrants out of Comal County, and he shot at the agents. No injuries were reported, according to Porter.
The Nederland Police Department posted a warning on its Facebook page shortly after 3 p.m., alerting the public after a potentially dangerous suspect.
Chief Porter says Young had five outstanding warrants: Bail jumping (2), aggravated assault w/ a deadly weapon, violated bond on protective order, assault/family violence.
