Newton County Sheriff Colton Havard says a report of a man unconscious in a van resulted in him going to jail on a drug charge. It happened short after 10:00 Monday morning on County Road 2018, just northeast of Newton.
Havard said a deputy arrived to find Raymond Jerry Westcott in the vehicle and drug paraphernalia in plain sight. Also discovered was just under 3 grams of methamphetamine.
Westcott was arrested and charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance.
