Newton County Sheriff Colton Havard says a man was struck in the leg by a bullet during a drive-by shooting incident on Sunday. It happened at a house on Farm to Market Road 1416.
Havard said the victim was taken to Jasper Memorial Hospital where he was treated and released.
Sheriff Havard said both the house and a vehicle parked in front of it were hit by the gunfire.
Meanwhile, deputies are still working to identify the shooter.
