The Galveston County Sheriff’s Department says the man found dead at Crystal Beach on the Bolivar Peninsula early Tuesday morning was a resident of the Nederland area. He has been identified as 45-year-old Shaun Land. Sheriff’s Department Major Ray Nolen said a man walking on the beach at about 4:00am found the man’s body in the surf. Nolen said the man was wearing the type of clothing a fisherman would wear and a life jacket. An autopsy and toxicology testing is being performed in an effort to learn more about the man’s death.
