KOGT in Orange is reporting that a man has died as the result of the injuries he received in a house fire in nearby Orange County on Friday evening.
According to the report, firemen were dispatched to a home at 6010 Pipeline Road shortly after 11:00 when it was reported that the structure was on fire and arrived to find fire coming from the bedroom area.
As firemen battled the blaze, they received word from a neighbor or someone that the resident of the home was there when the fire broke out. A firefighter responded by going into the home to search for the victim. However, the firemen was overcome by the fire and had to be taken to a hospital. However, another fireman was able to enter and pulled the man to safety. However, following extensive treatment the man was pronounced dead a the scene by an Orange County Justice of the Peace.
What caused the fire is still unknown and the name of the deceased has not been released pending formal identification and notification of next of kin.
