A Jasper man has been arrested and is accused of setting two houses on fire within a few weeks. Jasper Police on Tuesday arrested 35-year-old James Edward Morris, Jr. and he has been charged with two counts of Arson with Intent to Damage a Habitat or Place of Worship. As of Wednesday, bond had not yet been set. The first fire occurred on September 5th at 903 Fred Street and the second fire occurred on September 22nd at 344 East Childers Street. The case was investigated by Jasper Fire Marshal Brandon Duckworth and Jasper Police Detective Josh Hadnot.
