TYLER, Texas (KLTV) - The Tyler Police Department has arrested a man they say crashed into a building on the Grace Community High School campus early Wednesday morning.

Jaydien Williams, of Tyler, was driving south on Patriot Drive where it turns into University Boulevard, police said, and just before 4 a.m., his truck hit the Grace Community School administration and admissions building on University Boulevard in southeast Tyler.

Investigators believe Williams failed to stop at a stop sign before striking the building. Williams was checked for injuries and was arrested for driving while intoxicated and possession of marijuana, according to Tyler police.

Investigators said it was not immediately clear how fast the vehicle was traveling. No one was inside the building at the time, and no other injuries were reported, police said.

Jay Ferguson, head of school for Grace Community School, said the campus will likely consider installing bollards to help prevent similar crashes in the future.
