A Golden Triangle man went to jail Wednesday night after Jasper Police say a traffic stop turned up a large amount of drugs and two guns.
A report filed by Officer Jordan Courtney said he stopped a pickup truck at about 9:30 on Highway 96 at Houston Street. The report said the driver, 40-year-old Mitchell Prince, of Port Arthur, immediately got out of the vehicle and slammed the door, and he told the officer that he had a quarter-pound of marijuana in the vehicle.
The report said they actually found just 3.8 ounces of marijuana. However officers said they also found methamphetamine, 125 Hydrocodone pills, muscle relaxer pills, Xanax, two loaded handguns, and over $8,000 in cash.
According to the report, Prince was taken to the Jasper County Jail to be charged with two counts of Possession of a Controlled Substance and one count of Unlawful Carrying of a Weapon.
