A Buna man went to jail Monday night after he allegedly assaulted his girlfriend, and the report says it wasn’t the first time.
According to the report, deputies responded to a house on County Road 740 when it was reported that 37-year-old Joseph Michael Griffith had hit his live-in girlfriend in the face and also several times about her body causing bruising and pain.
The report said that Griffith has two previous arrests on charges of Assault-Family Violence.
Griffith was arrested and booked into the Jasper County Jail on a charge of Continuous Violence Against a Family Member.
