VERNON PARISH, La. (KPLC) - A man who was wanted for allegedly driving off while test-driving a car has turned himself in. Christian D. Efferson, 19, of Shreveport, traveled to Slagle on Feb. 21 under the pretense of buying a car that had been posted for sale on social media, Sheriff Sam Craft said. Efferson and another person went to the seller’s home to look at the car. Efferson and the seller took the car for a test drive and stopped at a gas station. After going inside to pay for gas, he sped off, leaving the seller behind, Craft said. The person Efferson traveled with sped off in the car they had driven, Sheriff Craft said. Efferson turned himself in Tuesday. He is jailed on a count of theft of a motor vehicle with a $20,000 bond. Authorities recovered the stolen car in Shreveport, Craft said.
