The Beauregard Parish Sheriff’s Department says a Lake Charles man is behind bars after he shot a woman in the face on Sunday. It happened at a mobile home park just south of DeRidder. Deputies say Shane Edward Fruge was arrested after the shooting and taken to the Beauregard Parish Jail. Fruge was later charged with second degree Attempted Murder and Possession of a Firearm or Carrying a Concealed Weapon by a Person Convicted of Certain Felonies. Bond on Fruge was set at $300,000.00. Despite catastrophic injuries after being shot at close range, the woman is expected to survive.
