The Jasper County Sheriff’s Department has arrested a man accused of dumping two German Shepherd dogs. It happened on County Road 497, midway between Jasper and Kirbyville. According to Sheriff Chuck Havard, the case was investigated by Lieutenant Chad Ainsworth and he identified the suspect as 53-year-old Jimmy Whitney Gaspard, of Kirbyville. Gaspard was arrested and taken to the Jasper County Jail and charged with Cruelty to Animals. Meanwhile, the sheriff said the two dogs are being temporarily cared for by someone until a permanent home can be found for them.
