Police in Lufkin say a standoff has ended with a man in custody and no one injured following an incident that occurred there on Sunday evening. Officers said the series of events began on Sunday evening when police received a report of a disturbance in the 700 block of Clark Avenue and arrived find a man shooting at them and others out of the door of his home. Officers barricaded off the area and tried to communicate with the man all night until early Monday morning when the suspect, Jason Penick, 47 decided to lay his weapon down and come out. Penick was taken to the Angelina County Jail where he was later charged with Aggravated Assault Against a Peace Officer.
