LUFKIN, Texas (KTRE) - A Lufkin police SWAT team arrested a Lufkin man following a several hour standoff Tuesday after he was reported to have locked his wife and child inside their home, police said.

According to a release from the Lufkin Police Department, they received a call reporting Flint Thompson, 46, had locked his wife and child inside a room at their home on the 1300 block of California Boulevard.

After an attempt to coax Thompson to the door, a SWAT team and negotiators were called to the home.

Eventually everyone came out of the house except for Thompson, the release said, despite hours of requests for a peaceful surrender.

SWAT then entered the home and placed him under arrest.

He was taken to the Angelina County Jail where he is held on a $10,000 bond.
