Louisiana November election qualifying period begins Wednesday

BATON ROUGE, La. - Political candidates looking to qualify for the November election this year can do so starting Wednesday. The qualifying period will be open until Friday, July 19. In northwest Louisiana, races on the ballot include Louisiana's 4th Congressional District, Associate Justice, Supreme Court, 2nd Supreme Court District, as well as mayor's races in Ida, Rodessa, Benton, Haughton, and several other communities. Per law, candidates qualifying need to provide an email address and show a valid Louisiana driver's license or Louisiana ID. The email provided will be listed on the secretary of state's website.
