Jasper County Sheriff Chuck Havard and his deputies converged on the Neches River near Evadale on Thursday morning when it was reported that a Buna man was missing.
The call for help came from friends and family members who were worried about the individual.
Havard said the man simply got lost and was found about 3 miles from where he entered the woods.
