When there is a fire, time is everything and a local homeowner benefited from that on Thursday when everything came together quick, saving a home in the Holmwood subdivision west of town.
Firemen arrived within a short time and found a neighbor, retired Jasper firefighter Gary Dougherty was already on the scene attempting to put out the fire, which occurred in a large travel trailer parked next to brick home at 305 Lakewood Drive.
The owner of the property, Arthur Yeary, said everything was going well until he and others heard something popping and went outside to find the trailer completely engulfed in flames.
The trailer was a complete loss but firemen were able to keep the fire from spreading to the house.
What caused the fire is still unknown and no injuries resulted from the incident.
