LONE STAR, Texas (KLTV) - Lone Star Police Department say they have arrested a man in connection with a homicide.
The police department posted on Facebook that on Monday at around 5 a.m., Lone Star Volunteer Fire Department Chief Cris McCurdy, fire captain Kaile Vaughn, fireman Gavin McCurdy, Daingerfield Police Department Officer Jonathan Jordan, and Morris County Deputy Ken Thomas responded to a scene where a person was lying unconscious in the road.
The say the person in the roadway was a 22 year old male, and he was found in the 100 block of Ponder Street.
The first responders performed CPR and got the man’s pulse back. He was taken to the hospital in Pittsburg, but he did not survive. His death was attributed to a suspected overdose, police report.
Officers say that on the scene, they located a white crystal substance that field tested positive for the presence of meth and fentanyl.
The police reported further that on Wednesday, they executed a search warrant for a home on the 100 block on Ponder Street. They were assisted by Texas DPS troopers.
At that time, they took Keenan Wesley into custody for a Cass County bond revocation warrant. While being searched, a glass meth pipe with residue inside and a baggie of meth were found on him, they said.
They report that Wesley and another person were previously arrested at that location for possession of a controlled substance, in August of 2025.
