A local resident underwent medical treatment for what was said to be only minor injuries following a two vehicle auto accident that occurred shortly before 6:00 on Sunday evening.
Police, firemen and other emergency crews were dispatched to the intersection of Highway 96 and Milam Street shortly before 6:00 when was reported that a late model Ford F-150 pickup truck had collided with a Chevrolet Equinox SUV.
What happened is not known as police are still investigating and have not issued a report, but one person at the scene said the Chevrolet was headed west on Milam Street and the Ford was traveling on Highway 96 when the crash occurred.
No fire resulted from the incident.
