Local police investigating another armed robbery

Another convenience store in Jasper has been hit by robbers; this time three men all said to be brandishing guns. Officers say the latest incident occurred shortly after 9:00 on Tuesday evening when it was reported that the men had walked into the Quickway Convenience Store at the intersection of North Main and Highway 96 with guns and demanded that the clerk hand over cash. Officers said that before leaving the store, the suspects forced the clerk into a back room and then left with the cash in hand. However, it is not known whether they left in a vehicle or on foot. Its the second armed robbery in Jasper in less than a week. Shortly after midnight on Monday morning, officers from the Jasper Police Department were dispatched to the intersection of Highway 96 and Othello Street, when it was reported that a man had walked into that store with a gun and demanded cash. The suspect was last seen leaving the building with the undisclosed amount of money that was on hand. So far no detailed description has been released by police It is unknown if the two incidents are related in any way and there are no leads reported in either case.
