Local lake levels just below normal while rivers running low

As the drought continues, it appears that our local lakes are faring quite well, while our local rivers are running a little low. KJAS News on Wednesday gathered the latest up-to-date numbers from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, the Sabine River Authority, and the National Weather Service:

DAMS

Sam Rayburn Dam

Current Elevation - 160.8 feet

Normal Elevation – 164.4 feet

Dam B

Current Elevation – 82.7 feet

Normal Elevation – 83.0 feet

Toledo Bend Dam

Current Elevation – 169.1 feet

Normal Elevation – 172.0 feet

RIVERS

Neches River

Town Bluff – 47.3 feet (flood stage 68.0 feet)

Evadale – 5.3 feet (flood stage 17.0 feet)

Sabine River

Burkeville – 11.9 feet (flood stage is 43.0 feet)

Bon Wier – 13.6 feet (flood stage is 30.0 feet)

Deweyville – 13.8 feet (flood stage 24.0 feet)
