Lindale woman arrested after 4-year-old tests positive for meth

TYLER, Texas (KLTV) - Deputies with the Smith County Sheriff’s Office have arrested a Lindale woman after a 4-year-old child hair follicle test came back positive for methamphetamine.

Brittany Lee Hankins, 36, is charged with state jail felony endangering a child. She was arrested on Monday and her bond is set at $100,000.

According to an arrest affidavit obtained by KLTV, the sheriff’s office was contacted by a firm contracting with Family and Protective Services, who said a 4-year-old child who was under the care of Hankins had tested positive for meth through a hair follicle test.

A warrant for Hankins arrest was obtained on May 28.
