Large wildfire burned near Evadale on Monday afternoon

Several fire departments were busy dealing with a wildfire in far south Jasper County on Monday afternoon. It occurred in the area of County Road 826 and Farm to Market Road 105, between Evadale and the Orange County line. According to Jasper County Deputy Karli Cherry, Evadale firefighters received assistance from the Buna, Vidor, Orange County ESD #4, Kirbyville, and Roganville Fire Departments along with the Texas A&M Forest Service. When it was brought under control, it had scorched approximately 90 acres. There’s no word on what may have caused the blaze. Most importantly, there were no reports of structures damaged or injuries.
