Kirbyville Woman arrested for causing traffic jam

Police in Kirbyville said a resident of Kirbyville, stepped out into traffic on the northbound side of Highway 96, just after the bridge over Pin Oak Creek Saturday morning. Witnesses state pedestrian hit the hood of one vehicle and was almost struck by a passing 18-wheeler. She began shouting profanity and displaying rude hand gestures to vehicles stopped in both lanes. Traffic backed up from the bridge to past Jasper Newton Electric Company. Kirbyville Police Officer attempted to remove the woman from the road and arrested her for Impeding traffic flow. However, the suspect reportedly became agitated and resisted arrest. The Kirbyville Police Officer, identified as Cal Morgan, a part-time officer for the city, was credited for being incredibly patient with the woman despite her attempts to fight the officer. The woman, whose name has not been released, pending formal charges and arraignment was taken to Jasper County Jail where it expected that she will be charged with disorderly conduct and resisting arrest.
