Kirbyville teenager accused of stalking and harassing a girl after she broke up with him

A Kirbyville teenager was arrested on Thursday morning for allegedly stalking and harassing a teenage girl. Dustin Mederos, 19, of Kirbyville, is charged with Stalking and his bond was set at $50,000.00. According to the alleged victim’s family, the girl had ended her relationship with Mederos in December and attempted to cut off communication with him. However, the family says that Mederos began harassing her both at her workplace and at Kirbyville High School. According to the Probable Cause Affidavit from Kirbyville Police Officer Ashley Arce, Mederos repeatedly showed up at her place of work, and at school he would wait outside of her classroom, cussed her out in the hallways, pulled on her backpack, and screamed at her. The affidavit went on to say that he attempted to contact her on social media and called her 54 times in one day. The affidavit said that when she refused to answer his calls, he contacted her extended family trying to get her to communicate with him. The affidavit said school officials moved her parking spot and provided security in the morning and afternoon as she entered and left the school grounds, but the problems continued. The girl’s mother contacted Kirbyville Police and Officer Arce was able to get an arrest warrant issued.
