Jasper County Sheriff Chuck Havard said Sunday that a report of an argument or disturbance in Buna had led to the arrest of a Kirbyville man on a firearm charge.
Havard said officers were dispatched to the location on Highway 96 shortly after 9:00 when it was reported that the disturbance was under way in the parking lot of the store. He said officers later learned that one of the people involved, Timothy Joe Jeane Jr. 39, who is a convicted felon was in the possession of a gun.
Jeanne was taken to the Jasper County Jail where he was to be charged with Felon in Possession of a Firearm.
