A Jasper woman was arrested Saturday afternoon following an assault investigation on County Road 259.
According to the Jasper County Sheriff’s Office, Deputy Gray responded to the scene at approximately 1:41 p.m. on May 16, 2026, in reference to an assault. During the investigation, 59-year-old Kristen Marlee Nelson, of Jasper, reportedly admitted to striking her husband in the head with a handgun during a verbal altercation.
Nelson was arrested and charged with Aggravated Assault/Family/Household Member With a Deadly Weapon, a first-degree felony. She was transported to the Jasper County Jail.
Nelson is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
