Jasper Residents Involved in Liberty County Crash that Killed Motorcyclist

The Texas Department of Public Safety says two Jasper residents were involved in a deadly accident that occurred early Wednesday evening in Liberty County. Troopers say it occurred at about 5:30 on Farm to Market Road 770, about 3 miles north of Hull.

According to DPS, Edrick Armstrong, 45, of Jasper, was driving a 2015 Dodge pickup truck southbound with his passenger, Carous Bronson, 36, also of Jasper, and they were followed by a 2008 Hyosung motorcycle, operated by Patrick Roth, 30, of Hull, and ridden by a passenger, Mira Brown, 32, of Batson.

Troopers say Armstrong slowed to make a left turn into a driveway and as he made that turn, the motorcyclist entered the northbound lane to pass and hit the driver’s side of the truck.

Roth was pronounced dead at the scene, and his passenger, Brown, was taken to a Kingwood hospital for treatment. Meanwhile, neither Armstrong nor Bronson were injured.
