A Jasper man is undergoing treatment for the severe injuries he received in an auto-pedestrian accident that occurred shortly before 1:00 on Wednesday afternoon on the west side of town. What happened is not clear and police have not released a full report, but early reports are that that David McAnelley, 41, was walking along Highway 190, just east of the Jasper County Airport, when he was struck by a westbound 2023 Nissan sport utility vehicle. McAnelley was treated at the scene by emergency medical technicians from Allegiance EMS and then transported to the airport, where he was transferred to a medical helicopter and flown to a hospital in the Houston Area for additional treatment. The driver of the Nissan, Carisa Lane, 50, also of Jasper, was not injured in the accident.
