It had been rumored for weeks that the local Dairy Queen, located at 987 South Wheeler Street here in Jasper, might close as the company shut the doors on similar stores across the state. However, it was apparent on Tuesday that it was more than just a rumor, when customers arrived to find the doors locked and the building for the most part empty.
Looking inside through a window, one could see that even the menu's and prices had been pulled down, along with anything else that might have the DQ logo.
There's no straight word on what is going on and no one to contact. However, members of the Dallas media have reported that the actions come following a dispute and possible legal action by some of the franchise holders and the company.
The present location opened in the late 60"s here in the Jasper Area and was known as the home of the so called "Belt Buster and Blizzard".
