Jasper County Sheriff’s Department Deputy Karli Cherry said Monday that the department is looking for the owner of a firearm so that it can be returned to them. According to Cherry, it was found at about 7:00 Sunday evening in the middle of the intersection of Recreational Road 255 and Farm to Market Road 1007 in Rayburn Country. Cherry said a check of the serial number showed that it was not listed as stolen. If you are missing a firearm, you’re asked to contact the sheriff’s department at 409-384-5417 and describe your missing firearm to see if it matches the gun which has been found.
