JASPER COUNTY, Texas (KTRE) - Authorities are investigating a fire that destroyed a home and multiple vehicles, according to the Jasper County Sheriff’s Office.
According to the Beech Grove Volunteer Fire Department, firefighters responded to a fire on County Road 143 late Saturday night.
BGVFD said crews found a double-wide home and three vehicles fully engulfed upon arrival. The fire had consumed the majority of both, the VFD said.
Crews also encountered several outbuilding exposures on the property, as well as numerous dogs running loose. The property owner was on scene and secured the animals.
The cause of the fire is unknown and no injuries were reported.
Investigators said there are indications the fire may be of a suspicious nature. The JCSO is handling the investigation.
“From the time we were dispatched, I sensed from Jasper County Sheriff’s Office 911 operators that there was something strange or suspicious about this call,” said BGVFD Chief James Gunter.
