Jasper Police Chief Garrett Foster says an investigation is continuing into allegations of a male teacher sexually harassing female students at Parnell Elementary School.
The mother of one of the girls says that five girls are victims in the case.
Meanwhile, the private company that was brought in to run the school in the wake of failing grades, Third Future Schools, has reportedly terminated the teacher’s employment.
The girl’s mother says the male teacher inappropriately touched the girls and then threatened them to not tell anyone. She also said that the alleged acts came to light after one of the girls made an outcry by writing down what had been happening and she then put the note in a prayer box in one of the classrooms.
The parents of the girls have hired Jasper attorney Billy Morian III to represent them as they seek accountability from the school.
The five girls will be interviewed at the Garth House in Beaumont on Thursday and Friday.
