SULPHUR, La. (KPLC) - An inmate at the Sulphur jail has died following a medical emergency, police said.
Correctional officers noticed that an inmate was having a medical emergency while making rounds just before midnight Tuesday, according to the Sulphur Police Department. Officers notified Acadian Ambulance, and the inmate later died.
Next of kin has been notified, police said. The cause of death is unknown, and autopsy results are pending.
Police did not identify the inmate or provide any other details.
